The role is responsible for performing reconciliations across mobile money, digital payments, settlement accounts, and partner transactions, ensuring timely identification, investigation, and resolution of discrepancies while safeguarding revenue and maintaining customer confidence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of mobile money trust accounts, wallet transactions, payment gateway reports, bank accounts, agent commission files, merchant settlements, and fee income.<br \/>\n\u2022 Investigate and resolve reconciliation variances, including failed deposits, unse led transactions, duplicate postings, and uncredited transfers.<br \/>\n\u2022 Prepare and submit daily journal entries relating to mobile money segments in\u00a0accordance with internal controls and delegated authority.<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage sales cycles, including partner segments and agent commission payments.<br \/>\n\u2022 Monitor prefunding requirements and provide segment forecasts to Treasury.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial controls.<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain complete reconciliation documentation and audit trails.<br \/>\n\u2022 Prepare exception reports, month-end reconciliation reports, and partner performance summaries.<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide reports to Finance, Risk, Internal Audit, and regulatory bodies as required.<br \/>\n\u2022 Engage banks, payment partners, merchants, aggregators, and regulators to resolve settlement and dispute issues.<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify and implement opportunities to automate and improve reconciliation processes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.<br \/>\n\u2022 Professional certification, such as ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent, will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Two (2) years\u2019 experience in mobile money, fintech, banking operations, digital payments, or transaction reconciliation.<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience working with mobile wallet ecosystems, settlement processes, payment gateways, and switching environments.<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience in high-volume transaction environments.<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.<br \/>\n\u2022 Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEGAL CERTIFICATION \/ PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Membership in a recognized professional association will be an added advantage<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/btc.bw\/company\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2026\/06\/Job-Advert-no2-of-26_27.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Download Job Advert<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REPORTS TO: MFS Operations Manager ROLE PURPOSE We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Reconciliation Officer to support the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of BTC\u2019s Mobile Financial Services (MFS) ecosystem.
