· The 2026 BTC Francistown Marathon is an annual event targeted at national and international athletes with a special 3km peace run category for children.

· The distance categories are 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km, 5km and 3km.

· The Marathon is backed up by the BTC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which is run through the BTC Foundation.

· This is one of the many ways BTC has reinforced its place as a company that advocates for and supports community upliftment projects.

· This is driven by the strong belief that while corporate growth and profitability are essential, the company must pursue societal goals related to sustainability and development.

· The 2026 BTC Francistown Marathon will transform the lives of people in communities we operate in by giving back to the community to create a positive impact.

· The Marathon is also poised to unearth a lot of talent and produce athletes that will represent the country at an international level.

· The 2026 BTC Francistown Marathon will prove to be a lead in teamwork as it has partnered with Francistown Athletics Club (FAC), a local athletic club registered with Botswana Athletics Authority (BAA) to assist with coordinating the BTC Francistown Marathon for inclusivity with the local community.

• The event will take place at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown

· You can register and pay at any BTC Shop countrywide by completing the registration form and paying over the counter.

· You can visit our online registration platform at www.btc.bw/btc-francistown-marathon/sponsors-partners-package-form/ to register and submit sponsorship amount that corresponds with sponsorship packages to the Marathon.

· Online and in-store registration opened Wednesday, 17th September 2025.

· The final day to register is Tuesday, 31st March 2026.

· Participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible since registration will close before Tuesday, 31st March 2026 – if the entry cap is reached.

· The BTC Francistown Marathon does not accept any substitutions (the transfer of one’s spot to another runner) once registration is complete.

· The BTC Francistown Marathon does not accept any deferrals for participation in the next race once registration is complete.

· Once registration is complete, The BTC Francistown Marathon does not issue any refunds for cancellation or non -participation.

· 42.2km – The minimum age requirement is 20 years at the time of participation 18th April 2026

· 21.1km – The minimum age requirement is 18 years at the time of participation 18th April 2026.

· 10km – The minimum age requirement is 18 years or older on 18th April 2026.

· Gaborone: BTC Training School from Tuesday, 07th April 2026 to Friday, 10th April 2026 (09:00 – 17:00)

· Francistown: BTC North Tech Office from Tuesday, 14th April 2026 to Friday, 17th April 2026 (09:00 – 17:00)

iii. If you send someone to collect on your behalf, remember to complete the letter of authorization and the required supporting documentation.

iv. No race numbers will be issued on race day.

v. Race packs can only be collected at the prescribed race pack collection places, and no entry fee will be refunded under any circumstances.

· For the safety of all participants and to ensure you can hear all important instructions from marshals and emergency personnel, the use of earphones/headphones of any type is strictly prohibited on the marathon course.

· Participants found in violation of this policy may face disqualification.
