Kgosi Michael Mothobi Letsogile Mothobi
Kgosi Michael Mothobi Letsogile Mothobi, is the BTC Foundation Trustee Board Chairman and Judge of the High Court of Botswana. He is a former Senior Lecturer at the University of Botswana has served in the BTC Board of Directors and has been the BTC Foundation Chairman since 2014.
Baagi Mmereki
Dr. Baagi Mmereki, is the BTC Foundation Trust Deputy Chairman. He has undertaken several consultancies on air quality issues and environmental Noise assessment for industrial projects and is currently the Scientific Director of TYS & T Enterprises (Pty) Ltd.
Ketlogetswe Montshiwa
Ms. Ketlogetswe Montshiwa is an Independent Trustee Board member. She is the Head of Programme at Sentebale, a charity that supports orphans and vulnerable children, many of whom are affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic through education, psychosocial support, and care.
Anthony Masunga
As Managing Director, Mr. Masunga is tasked with leading the growth and transformation of BTC post listing to deliver shareholder value. He provides overall leadership to the business including ensuring adherence to
the highest corporate governance standards, management of all financial and technical systems and processes, and developmentand management of the human resource capital.
He was previously the Company’s Chief Operating Officer, Acting Group General Manager Commercial and Privatisation Programme Manager, and is the founding General Manager of beMOBILE (now BTC Mobile). He has over 20 years’ experience in the field of Telecommunications and Information Technology. Mr. Masunga holds a BSc Computer Science degree from McGill University (Canada) and an MBA from DE Montfort University (UK). He is an Alumni of the University of Stellenbosch Business School, having completed their Executive Development Programme.
Pilot Yane
Mr. Pilot Yane is a Trustee and Head of Enterprise Products. He has vast experience in Marketing and a well- rounded professional with over 20 years’ experience in costing, pricing, leadership, product development and portfolio. He has achieved the consolidation of beMobile and BTC brands.
Mr Jürgen Peschel
Jürgen Peschel is a seasoned Chief Executive Officer (CE0) in the telecommunications space whose career spans over three decades of progressive leadership in cutting edge telecommunications, Information and Technology (IT), digitisation and fintech across Europe, North America and emerging markets including Africa. He has led both group as well as local operator functions providing strong transformative leadership to develop telecommunications providers into the digital era and driving innovation in products and services to grow revenues for sustainable profitable growth. He is known for his in-depth expertise in emerging technologies to spearhead innovation, driving digitisation and focusing on quality of service and business excellence to deliver exceptional customer experience.
Mr Peschel’s leadership encompasses both mobile, fixed and enterprise businesses and he has been instrumental in launching and scaling pioneering solutions, most notably, playing a key role in the rollout of MPesa, the world’s leading mobile payment platform. He has served as Director of a major Nigerian payment service bank and held senior executive positions at tier-1 operators including Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone across major developed markets. For more than ten years, he has led operations in emerging markets at Digicel and Vodafone in the Caribbean and Africa, and his most recent job was CEO & Managing Director of 9mobile (formerly Etisalat) in Nigeria.
Mr Peschel holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Ulm, Germany, and delivered his thesis in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Manitoba, Canada. He also earned a degree in Business Administration from the Université de Saint-Boniface, Canada, and has completed the Management Development Programme at IMD, Switzerland. His unique blend of technical acumen, business leadership and cross-cultural expertise positions him to lead BTC through the next wave of digital transformation as our new CEO.
