BTC Foundation came onboard to assist the course to support and rehabilitate ex-offenders. The centre was established to rehabilitate and reintegrate ex-offenders back into society. The donations will enable individuals at the centre to pursue online courses, build their digital literacy, search for job opportunities, and engage in self-development programmes. These are critical steps in re-adapting into society with dignity and confidence. The internet connectivity will ensure access to the internet is not limited, especially for educational purposes, and even exploring the vast resources available online for personal growth and career advancement. This is in line with building resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization as well as fostering innovation as articulated by United Nations` Sustainable Development Goals.
Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) donated an HP laptop, HP desktop computer and twelve (12) months of internet connectivity worth P20,778.00 to the Rehabilitation Centre for Ex Offenders in Thamaga village. Rehabilitation Centre for Ex Offenders is a non-government organisation founded by reformed ex-offenders to provide services and support to inspire active criminals to be law abiding as well as the re-integration of ex-convicts through provision of rehabilitation and crime prevention solutions
